What are your personal fitness goals?
My fitness goals are to be fit in mind, body and soul, and gain weight and muscle proportionally. I am busy with my Aerobics Course certification through Trifocus Academy gearing to be a group instructor. I’m also concurrently doing a Professional Life Coaching course. Overall, the goal is to be strong inside and out.
How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?
By empowering young girls and women to know that a healthy lifestyle is not defined by how many times you work out a week or a six pack or toned arms, but that a healthy lifestyle begins in the mind. It is about what and how you eat, and also your opinion of yourself. I will show women that fitness is for everyone, and how to love and be kind to themselves; affirm and validate themselves.
What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?
A comfort zone is a nice place to be, but nothing grows there.
Tell us about your fitness lifestyle
Prior to lockdown I went to gym 3 times a week. During lockdown I incorporated that exact same schedule and just added an extra day. My days typically start at 6am and I focus on a different muscle group each day. Tuesdays and Thursdays are HIIT days and on Fridays I do cardio. With level 3 I started hiking again, which is a fun way of incorporating a workout. My eating plan consists of protein and carbs, and I have 2-3 protein shakes a day.
Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?
Fitness saved my life. I discovered fitness at a time when life was very challenging. I’m now in a better place physically, spiritually but, most importantly, mentally. I believe I am a force. I love seeing women rise above adversities and conquering daily. I believe I have a very important message and story to tell women and I believe that it will resonate. We need women who lift other women up and I am that woman.
