Lives: Cape Town
I am a bubbly, goofy and determined Pretoria girl who loves surrounding myself with like-minded positive thinkers. I am all about living in the present moment and making sure you trust your gut. Following your gut and staying true to yourself is definitely the key to life in my eyes. Learning to “trust the wait and embrace the uncertainty” has been a journey with both ups and downs, but you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain. Dancing has been a massive part of my life ever since I was a little girl. Dancing remains a form of expression and escapism for me. It got me to understand the mechanics of my body and how it moves and functions. Due to my love of movement, I got into the gym where I explored a different type of escapism. I have always trained and enjoyed the gym, but these last 2 years, I really have fallen in love with it wholeheartedly! I found a type of training that I enjoy and I left all that food and “missing a session” guilt behind. Since listening to that little voice within, it allowed me to trust my intuition and really embrace fitness for myself!

How does fitness fit into your lifestyle?
Fitness has always been a part of my lifestyle in such a big way that I decided to make a career out of it. Since graduating from Oakfields College with distinction in Musical Theatre and Dance, I continued my education by completing and achieving distinction with both my BASI Pilates and ETA Personal training qualifications. Currently, I am the head trainer at F45 Kloof in Cape Town. I absolutely love using the F45 Floor as my stage, where I motivate, educate and inspire my clients to achieve their goals in a safe, but hard-working environment. Fitness really is all about community for me. Connecting with different types of clients and seeing them smash their goals really motivates me to be the best trainer and person I can be. Both performing and personal training work hand in hand, which in turn gives me the opportunity to invest my love in both industries.
What are your personal fitness goals?
My fitness goals have become very performance-based. Being someone who loves both strength and mobility, I find it important to train my body in different types of styles and forms. I absolutely love functional training as it helps me improve my own functionality, as well as my Pilates, yoga and stretch training sessions. I believe having a well-rounded and balanced training program allows me to reach both my mental and physical goals in fitness. I really believe that if you pick a type of exercise that you enjoy, the results and achievements will follow.
