I am a fun, bubbly, smart, and ambitious young lady. I am a qualified metallurgical engineer and I work in the mining industry while studying for my master’s degree part-time. My hobbies are working out and creating content around my fitness journey, career, and all the beautiful dreams I have for myself. I am a super positive person and I believe that with a positive mindset and self-belief, there is no limit to what you can achieve. I believe in affirmations and that you need to speak life into existence and that all our dreams are valid. What is required is for us to show up and be our best, which will look different depending on the season but all that is required is to be the best version of ourselves in the moment.

How does fitness fit into your lifestyle?
Fitness feels like oxygen to me. I know I don’t function at my best without moving my body. I live in my head a lot, so working out helps me merge my inner being with the outside world. I work out 4 to 6 times a week for about 1-1.5 hours. On days when I do not manage to go to the gym, I ensure I take at least a 15-minute walk just to make sure my body has done some form of movement. I usually work out in the early morning and I take Amino Power just before that. After my morning workout, I have an energy-filled breakfast (usually plain oats or bacon and eggs) because my job can be labour-intensive. My workouts consist of high-intensity bodyweight training. For cardio, I do spinning, a lot of skipping rope, and take walks in the evenings. During summer I add swimming as well. For food, I try to keep a great balance of carbs, veggies, and protein but I have such a sweet tooth, which I am still working on. Recently I have been trying to make healthy snacks with Iso-Whey powder, but I really enjoy the cookies and cream flavour with still water and a little milk – it tastes like a milkshake. When I am happy, I work out, when I am sad, I work out, when I am frustrated, annoyed, overwhelmed, or need to celebrate, I work out. Moving my body really reminds me that I am alive. It is the one way that I feel my mind, body, emotions, and heart are connected.
What are your personal fitness goals?
As a process engineer, part of my job requires me to work on mining sites. To be able to work on the site, you are required to take a medical test bi-annually to prove that you are physically fit to work on site. Part of my personal fitness goals is to remain physically fit to be able to efficiently do my job on-site, build muscle, and remain consistent all year round. I am proud to say I have definitely kept my fitness commitments to myself.
