What are your personal fitness goals?

To have a toned and athletic physique and still maintain my feminine qualities. To rectify my midsection following 3 pregnancies, and to be optimally fit in all areas of fitness – cardiovascular, strength, endurance, flexibility, speed, agility and power. I would like to get back into my running and hopefully do Comrades in 2022. I have just completed my yoga teacher training and would like to do a Pilates course next.

 

How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?

I am a mum of 3, and run my own business. I know life is busy, especially for women, but making time for health and fitness should be part of your everyday life. Exercise is my medicine. It is my happy pill, my anti-anxiety pill, my fat burner. It keeps my hormones balanced, it is a limitless drug! I would use my ambassadorship to spread the message to all women that a healthy lifestyle and optimal fitness can be achieved.

What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?

Self-care is not selfish. You cannot serve others when you are drained.

Tell us about your fitness lifestyle

I maintain a reasonably healthy lifestyle by exercising most days of the week. My current exercise routine includes full-body workouts, with high repetitions, 3 times a week, and full-body Tabata training 2 times a week. One day is for steady state cardio and foam rolling. I also practice yoga 2-3 times a week. I change things up so that I don’t get bored. In terms of nutrition, I am leaning more toward plant based, but not ready to give up meat totally. I love chocolate and do have a little once or twice a week and a treat on the weekend. I try my best to get my 6-8 hours of sleep a night.

 

Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?

It is what I work for every day, learning health and fitness as best as I can so that I can motivate others to improve their quality of life through exercise. My influence works on people that I interact with on a daily basis and I know, given the opportunity, I would be a great fitfluencer.
