What are your personal fitness goals?
To keep a closer eye on my vital statistics, which I can admit is not something I do constantly.
I would also like to improve my flexibility and balance and achieve a slightly more toned core.
I would also like to improve my supplement regimen to enjoy maximum results from the hard work I put towards staying fit. Another goal of mine is to never regress in terms of my fitness levels. I would like and am working towards completing the half iron man.
How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?
I am passionate about health and wellness and playing a supportive and positive role in people’s health investment journeys. I want to inspire people and help them enjoy and support the energy of winning. This ambassadorship would give me the platform to do so at scale. I would use my own experiences to inspire women to become healthier and fitter, despite the obstacles they might face.
What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?
Your body can stand almost anything, it’s your mind you have to convince.
Tell us about your fitness lifestyle
I exercise at least 5 times a week. I have structured my training according to muscle groups. I also do HIIT and EMOM once a week. My exercise sessions include a bit of everything – cardio, strength, balance, endurance and stretching. Sundays are yoga days. I do abdominal exercises with most of my exercise sessions. I have fallen in love with and use the indoor trainer as often as I can. My work as a health and fitness coach and the knowledge gained through my academic experience has enabled me to be conscious about fitness, training and nutrition. Good nutrition and supplements are an important part of my fitness lifestyle. I also meditate to ensure that I have a holistic approach to my health.
Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?
I hold a PhD in Health Professions education, and I am a health and wellness coach. I am also well suited for the role because fitness is a part of everything I do, whether it be nutrition or general mental fitness. I am ready to launch and accelerate my fitness and coaching career to a larger audience and be an inspiration to many people. I am authentic and ready to connect with audiences on topics that I am passionate about and promote health and fitness.
