What are your personal fitness goals?

To be better and stronger than I was yesterday, because I do believe that this is a never-ending journey with no final destination. When you’ve reached your fastest running pace, you can improve it. When you’ve done your highest box jump or did your heaviest squat, you can surpass it. I am my biggest competition.

I am a firm believer in not only conditioning your body in one area, but training your body to be able to handle all types of physical activity. Celebrating what your body can do with Functional Training, whether it’s running, cycling, weight lifting, plyometrics or high intensity training – not only being able to do this, but to do it well.

I have always had a huge drive in my life to be better in all areas of my life. If I notice there is something I need to work on, I acknowledge it, I work on it and I change it all while celebrating my strengths, while working on my weaknesses. I want to be the healthiest, strongest and fittest version of myself.

How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?

The journey to get where I am today wasn’t easy, it wasn’t a quick fix. It was hard work, discipline and determination. I kept on fighting, even when I didn’t see the results. But I wouldn’t have it any other way, because it established a mental strength and discipline in my life that’s unbreakable. There isn’t a quick fix or an easy way out. But that’s what will set you apart from the rest, to keep on, even when everyone else has given up.

My heart’s desire is to inspire women to push through, to keep on keeping on, even if it takes longer to get there, it’s okay, the point is, every day you are closer than you were yesterday. I believe all women were born to be athletes. No matter the package, no matter the background. My desire is to inspire women to believe this, that they are an athlete with a very special and unique contribution to athleticism. I want to inspire women with the truth that your body is truly something to value, to celebrate, to nurture and to love. On the good days and the bad days.

One thing I’ve learnt is that physical transformation can only come with inward transformation. It truly starts from within.

I would love the opportunity to use this ambassadorship to speak truth into the lives of women.

“Fitness” doesn’t come in a certain “package”. It’s not just for a certain look, or only meant for some people, it’s in and for every single woman who’s willing to love herself the way she deserves.

What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?

Tell us about your fitness lifestyle

I believe a fit and healthy lifestyle starts from within, because we as human beings are comprised of a mind, body and soul. If there is any negative thought pattern I think about myself, I acknowledge it, I try to determine the root of this thought, and replace it with something positive, recreating a new thought pattern. Don’t get me wrong, I fail often. But I’m getting better at it every day. πŸ™‚

I train 5-7 days a week. Sometimes my workouts are only 30 min, but I always tell myself: Just keep moving. πŸ™‚

Even though there are many days when I don’t feel like training, I just do some form of physical activity . Even if it’s just 20 min. Exercise, for me, is like brushing teeth. πŸ™‚ Even though I don’t always feel like it, I just do it as it’s a part of my everyday routine.

I am a HUGE sweet tooth and I absolutely LOVE food, and a lot of it. πŸ˜€

I train harder so that I can eat more. πŸ™‚

I believe in nurturing your body with healthy foods, but also enjoying your favourite treats. Balance is KEY.

I believe in Calories in = Calories out. So if I do feel like smashing a chocolate, I will just run an extra kilometre. πŸ™‚

Focus on the destination, but always remember to enjoy the journey. πŸ™‚

Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?

My heart is to help women become who they truly are, giving them the courage to be exactly who they want to be. I have overcome so many obstacles, and faced so many challenges to be the woman I am today. I broke out of so many boxes that life has tried to put me in, and I desire to be able to inspire other women to do the same.

My heart’s desire is to always speak the truth to women and to empower them. To remind them that they are worthy to look after themselves, to be who they were created to be – an ATHLETE.

I believe I have so much to contribute to this industry, because there are so many skills and characteristics I have acquired along the way. My heart is truly for every woman to accept herself, to love herself and to know she is INVINCIBLE.
