I am a second year student who teaches at Laerskool Garsfontein in Pretoria East. I’m a professional athlete who specialises in track and field. I’m humble and live to inspire and motivate young athletes. Fitness has been part of my journey from a young age. My whole life I’ve wanted to be an Olympian.

How does fitness fit into your lifestyle?
To be a professional athlete you need to train like one. Fitness is like a drug to me – I can’t go without it. Every morning at 04h30 my day starts with a 20-minute morning jog. I believe in the saying that “the early bird catches the worm”. From there, I head off to work as a student teacher. At 2 pm I coach kids cross country and motivate them to be good athletes. After that, I head off to my own training sessions, which is 2-4 hours every day. I have a specialised program that is set out by my coach.
What are your personal fitness goals?
My main goal is to participate in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. I also want to complete my degree in sport science and nutrition and shift my career into fitness full-time.
