Tell us more about yourself
What are your personal fitness goals?
I really enjoy physical and mental challenges and thus I have a few endurance races I would still like to take part in, including PE to Plett, Expedition Africa, Sani2C, Fish River Ultra and UTCT. I have also done the Fish River Ultra 65km and it was one of the most magical experiences of my life and therefore I need to do it again but in 2021. I will enter the 85km.
How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?
I will use the platform to voice my beliefs about the incredible functionality of our bodies and hopefully shift the focus of women away from the aesthetic side of things. I would like to advocate that a woman’s body is an incredible tool, designed to do incredible things and for you to enjoy!
What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?
Exercise is a celebration of what you can do, not a punishment for what you ate!
Tell us about your fitness lifestyle
I almost always have a race planned but I am not a very competitive person! I do races because they are fun and social and they keep me motivated, and they usually take you to places where you would not otherwise go. I maintain my lifestyle with 3-4 60-minutes sessions during the week. This is mostly in gyms. I love to run outside. This would usually be with a group of friends or with my border collie if I need alone time. Weekends are organised around longer training sessions.
Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?
My life is truly centred around fitness. My first two strengths according to the Clifton Strengths finder is Connectedness and Activator. Connectedness is a relationship-building strength. It means I can “give others comfort that there is a purpose beyond everyday existence”. As an Activator, I don’t like to just talk about things, I like to do them! And also, I like to get others to do things.
