What are your personal fitness goals?
Last year my fitness goal was to be able to do a pull-up, I now do them as warm- ups. This year I want to be the first woman in South Africa to do a TRX automatic handstand.
How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?
I want to help empower women on a physical and psychological level. Being in great shape is only half the battle won. The other half is on a mental level. I’d like to help women realise that the secret to achieving, and maintaining, their goals is learning how to have fun while training. I want to inspire women with my health and fitness story and show them how they too can take their weaknesses and turn them into strengths.
What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?
Smile… it’s free therapy.
Tell us about your fitness lifestyle
I eat to fuel my body for peak performance and joy, not to starve it. I use the 80/20 rule.
If you had to ask me what makes me ecstatically happy, then I’d have to say charging down a mountain on my mountain bike, going bodyboarding, or trying some crazy new workout in the gym, where I usually get to swing from something.
Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?
I don’t train to look a certain way, I look a certain way because I train. My body is a result of loving exercise! I want to break the mould. I believe that being the Face of Fitness is more than just having a great body. The true Face of Fitness is authentic, real, and fit all the time. It is about the way you live. It’s in the way you treat and inspire people. I believe I live out these core values and I strive to be better every day.
