I am a young lady who is not shy to try out new things and meet people, although I do not consider myself as being too forward. Generally, I am easy going and do not like unnecessary stress. I am a financial advisor, which is a stressful job. Luckily, I find comfort in my workouts every morning. If my day has been really hectic, I wind down with a low-intensity session or a yoga session just before supper. That’s if I do not curl up on the sofa and watch some travel show with my dad, or catch up on YouTube videos. I am allergic to a lot of common foods and I am pescatarian. This information seems to puzzle people. They wonder how I get my protein and other nutrients. I usually laugh and inform them about the alternatives that I consume. In a way, I enjoy answering them and opening up their minds to another way of life. The pandemic has really made me realise that life is short and that I should stop passing up on opportunities to travel, meet new people, and enter the Biogen Face of Fitness. In the past, I have supported other ladies through the whole process and so this year, with the support of those ladies, I too have decided to give it a shot and also enjoy the entire process.

How does fitness fit into your lifestyle?

Fitness is not just the physical aspect of my life. I focus on being physically, emotionally and mentally fit. I have made the mistake of neglecting my mental fitness and that was not good. I ended up with a lot of anxiety, which in turn made me doubt myself and stop working out for some time. That was a big wake-up call and reminded me that holistic fitness needs to be aligned with overall health. Being physically fit helps me move swiftly around. I have more natural energy than some of my peers who do not exercise and rely heavily on energy drinks. My physical features are due to my fitness lifestyle. I have noticed that I am now motivating others to also invest in their health and fitness and that really brings me joy.

What are your personal fitness goals?

I have a few goals that I am currently working towards. Recently, I managed to do a diamond push up. It might be a small victory for some, but I have weak triceps and so this was proof that my home-based strength workouts are paying off. My other fitness goals are to do staggered RDLs with a 25-30kg weight, build my endurance, become a fitness bootcamp instructor, incorporate sprints at least twice a week into my daily workouts, and tone up my legs.
