Tell us more about yourself:
What are your fitness goals?
To live a balanced life. To follow a healthy lifestyle through a healthy balanced diet, to be active on a daily basis and to look after me. I believe that health and fitness should be about balance and moderation because otherwise, it is not sustainable. I want to be a healthy, fit and strong mother to my baby boy and I want to be his example of how to live a healthy life.
Any sporting / fitness achievements we should know about?
At school level, I was a provincial swimmer and netball player. I have competed in several bicycle events on road as well as on my mountain bike. My husband and I enjoy doing mountain bike stage races together.
Why do you think you’re the USN Face of Fitness?
I am a relatable woman. I know the challenges of being a woman, being a mother and being a business owner. I can relate but I can also show that those factors should not be stumbling blocks but rather the motivation to become the best version of yourself. Through my professional experience as a biokineticist, but also through my personal experience with postpartum depression and being a mother, I can identify but also relate to women out there. It is so easy to make excuses but it is possible to achieve your goals.
I used to be intimidated by the fitness models in the magazines and I always thought that I could not be one of them but I have realized that through the right mindset, the right balanced diet, and the right training program, I can actually also be one of them.
I love working with people and I love to motivate and inspire people. It gives me great pleasure if I can help people achieve their health and fitness goals.
