What are your personal fitness goals?
Fitness is an essential part of becoming the healthiest, happiest and best version of myself. Being active is an important part of who I am. Exercise helps me to relieve stress and keeps me physically and mentally healthy.
How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?
As a medical student, I have firsthand experience of how an inactive and unhealthy lifestyle can be detrimental to your health and well being. This drives me to advocate for health and fitness. I will combine my medical experience and knowledge, together with a Women’s Health NPO that I founded in 2020 (Project Wildflower) to raise awareness for the importance of leading an active lifestyle. I would represent women with a full-time job or who study full time and encourage them to make exercise a priority within their busy schedules. My message to women is that fitness is not only about how you look, but also about being the best and healthiest version of yourself, be that mentally or physically.
What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?
“You don’t have to be extreme, just consistent.”
Tell us about your fitness lifestyle
I believe that fitness is about making an active lifestyle a priority in your life. My fitness lifestyle is about getting into a routine that I can keep up. I exercise at least 4-5 times per week for 30 to 60 minutes at a time, doing a mixture of high-intensity cardio, bodyweight and weight training. My fitness lifestyle is also about taking the stairs rather than the elevator, or going for a walk with a friend instead of a coffee date. I also participate in various activities throughout the year, including swimming, going for a jog or a hike, playing underwater hockey and playing tennis.
Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?
Everyday women can relate with me. I study full time, yet I make a point of prioritising fitness. My state of fitness is achievable for women with a full-time job and those who study or have families. I also have firsthand experience of the essential part that fitness plays in one’s general state of health. This makes me a trustworthy source when it comes to giving advice and advocating for various Biogen products. Lastly, and most importantly, I am authentic. I am happy and comfortable in my own skin. I know that my body has its flaws, but I also know that these imperfections are what makes me unique.
