What are your personal fitness goals?

I want to have a successfully be a part of the fitness industry and contribute to the industry in the biggest way I possibly can and as a trainer to help women redefine what their vision of a “sexy body” is and to build their own bodies beautiful shape and through this their confidence – to go out there and pursue their best

To become a IFBB NPC Wellness Fitness Pro and to be on the road to represent SA at the Olympia one day – here’s hoping! – This will break the barrier of what South African women can achieve internationally and on their home turf. South African women have what it takes!

To continue to improve myself as a whole to be a better person, a stronger person physically, mentally and spiritually.

How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?

I want to inspire women to realise that fitness and health is not just made in a gym or by a personal trainer / nutritionist telling you what to do but by you deciding to be the change and changing your home and lifestyle to incorporate fitness and healthy habits even in the other pastimes they enjoy. To realise that the control of their mindset and their home life will lead to the best gains in their health and fitness and a good gym life is just an extra boost to this – great bodies are made at home and not just in the gym. I want to inspire women through my workouts to learn to love their body shape and to work to improve on their body as it is instead of lusting over other people’s/ celebrities bodies or photos of very lean girls – YOUR body and face is beautifully unique in its own way   – make YOUR body the best body it can be  and you will love the results and become super confident in yourself and your own abilities.

Any noteworthy sporting or fitness achievements we should know about?

Firstly for me it is simply finding a way to be part of the fitness industry coming from a corporate background for years, I had no idea how to become part of the health and fitness industry but over the last 3 years I have made real strides to be a part of the industry, network, make contacts and friends and contribute back to industry which allowed me to start following my passion for fitness and health more and more and to feel a part of something great and worthwhile in my own life – I have loved every minute of learning and being a part of this industry.

For one year I worked as a freelance Columnist Health and Beauty Columnist for Caxton Newspaper and I loved seeing my articles published in the Newspaper and having my readers write back to me asking questions and sharing their stories and achievements with me based off something I had written and shared with them

I have my certification in Group aerobic and anaerobic exercise, running and corrective exercise and in basic nutrition

I have participated in 12 Bikini fitness competitions and have never placed lower than the top 5 except for 2 competitions where I placed 7th. However my two favourite wins were:

Previously I have competed in the  Novice Figure division for the IFFB NPC federation and placed Second

Previously I competed in the Sports Model division in the IBFF federation and placed 3rd

In OCR (obstacle course racing) I placed first in the RECCA race

Tell us about your fitness lifestyle

I focus on the 3 pillars of good healthy exercise:

  1. Exercise and stretching
  2. Nutrition – what you put in is what you are going to get out
  3. Use of non-exercise time (just your normal home activity time) and rest time – everything you do will contribute to a result in your body

I try to get an optimal balance in these three (above) to constantly see good results in my own body.

I don’t subscribe to any one way of working out but I like to infuse many different movement and training philosophies into my training like weight training, body weight training, yoga, dance and static and non-static stretch, CrossFit etc, into my workout so my body gets the best and fresh workouts to stimulate it and my mind every day.

 

Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?

Because I believe my positive outlook on MY body (the way it is) and my belief in what women of South Africa can achieve is something that needs to be shared with all South Africans and the world so that they can see what believing in yourself and building yourself up can achieve. I have the passion and drive and self-belief that I can achieve this vision for other women and I would like to begin to share it. Not today. Not tomorrow BUT RIGHT NOW and with the support of a great brand like Biogen I believe we can achieve great results for so many great women and people who just need a place to start  an inspiration to build a vision on.
