After completing my honours in Sport Science and Nutrition and having worked a bit in the industry, I realised there was a gap and general lack of knowledge about exercise during pregnancy and the many benefits that women could derive. I pursued a specialisation in pre/post-natal exercise with Fit For Birth, which is an international organisation based in America that is at the forefront of research in this field. I own and run a female-focused health and fitness studio. I am also a registered Doula (WOMBS) and I’m currently completing a qualification to be a lactation consultant through IBCLC. I love how all of these elements come together when working with my clients. I am able to not only help them with general fitness, weight loss and nutrition but also prepare them for the special phases in their life and support them throughout and afterwards by keeping them fit for birth and assisting with recovery and rehab. Until recently, I used to be a senior lecturer at a sport and fitness college where I really enjoyed teaching young students and sharing my passions with them through their studies and the start of their careers in the fitness industry. I am a very energetic person with a love for life and thoroughly enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter. I am also a qualified Les Mills group instructor and enjoy teaching spinning classes in my spare time.

How does fitness fit into your lifestyle?
My whole life revolves around fitness and mental wellbeing. My professional and personal life are all centred around this lifestyle. I truly believe that I need to be an example of what I expect from my clients and those who I can hopefully inspire. I have been a nationally competitive athlete since primary school and have competed across the country in cross country running and athletics. I am very lucky that my husband shares the same passion, which makes it a whole lot easier to keep up our active lifestyle.
What are your personal fitness goals?
I have been active my whole life and have always looked to maintain a strong, fit and lean physique. Having recently become a mother, the process I follow has changed into something that is more time efficient but still has the same element as before – consistency. Being active and following a healthy food lifestyle has helped me to build my confidence and has provided a great source of mental wellbeing. I hope to be an inspiration and role model for other women in my community. We derive so much emotion and knowledge from our daily interactions with people and I hope to have a positive impact on their lives.
