Tell us more about yourself

What are your personal fitness goals?

Being consistent effortlessly, gaining lean muscles and becoming the best, healthiest and sexiest version of myself. I would also like to run the comrades marathon when the pandemic is over.

How will you use your #BiogenFaceOfFitness ambassadorship to inspire women to lead a healthy / fit lifestyle if you win?

I love and live fitness and I have been working towards improving the health and well-being of women through my social media content. I have been sharing my fitness journey aiming to uplift and inspire women to lead a healthy lifestyle and I have also helped some in their journeys through training them. I will continue this as the Biogen Face Of Fitness. The ambassadorship  will allow me to use fitness and motivation to positively impact and transform lives at a larger scale, which will honestly be a dream come true.

What health and fitness quote or mantra do you live by?

“Fitness is not a destination, it is a way of life” .

Tell us about your fitness lifestyle

My fitness lifestyle is all about self-love and body positivity. I believe that the more you believe in yourself and love yourself, the more likely you are to achieve your fitness goals, because you’ll be achieving them for the right reasons. I’m very intentional about what I eat and I always ensure that I eat healthy even when I’m on a tight budget.

I focus on my mental health just as much as the physical, so my rest days are just as important as my workout days. Therefore, I always ensure that I spare some time for an activity that will make me feel calm and centred (e.g take a long walk, listen to podcasts, meditate or do some yoga).

The beginning of my fitness journey was fueled by REJECTION. I started in the entertainment industry as a model in 2012 and I went to countless auditions for 4 years but still could not land any job. I started believing that I didn’t have what it took to be a model. In 2016 I decided to restrategize, so I visited my modeling agency at that time to discuss the direction I wanted to take as a model and we spoke about various divisions that I could possibly fit in. At this point I had never been at a gym in my entire life and I was a size 26 and my weight was 42kg…I HATED sports and everything that had to do with being active.

The director at the modeling agency suggested a test shoot in order to see if I could fit as a bikini model. I did my research and saw that all the bikini models were toned so guess what? I joined the gym. The director reviewed the images along with the team and concluded that I could not become a bikini model because my boobs were too small and “I do not have the right body”… If you have been on a fitness journey as a woman, you probably know that boobs contain fat and the more you train/lift heavy, the tinier they become – so my boobs shrunk when I was training for the shoot.

Fast forward, the agency fired me because I was “too persistent” so I started going to the gym for myself and that’s when I got to learn the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and a lot more…and I later decided I wanted to become a fitness model and started investing all my energy in that. The gym became the place where I could feel that I had everything together. It’s been 4 years now and it didn’t just strengthen me physically, it has improved my way of life and my mental health. My transformation started through training and I have trained myself to focus on what my body can do, rather than how my body looks and that has led me to appreciate my body so much more. It has enabled me to want to give it more of what it needs to be its healthiest.

Why do you think you’re the Biogen Face of Fitness?

Apart from being prepared to look dazzling on the Fitness magazine cover, I believe that I can become a great ambassador for Biogen and the brands sponsoring the competition because I embody everything that they are looking for in the face of fitness. My lifestyle also aligns with the Biogen brand and as a consumer of the products it would be an honor to endorse them.
